Sophomore Rory Hie fired a season-low 4-under 68 to tie for second place, highlighting the No. 7 USC men’s golf team’s first day at the 2007 CordeValle Collegiate on Monday (Nov. 5) at the CordeValle C.C. in San Martin, Calif.

Hie birdied the 1st, 3rd and 6th holes to offset a bogey on 9 during a fine front 9, complementing it with two more birdies on the 11th and 17th holes. The 68 lowered his season-best round by two strokes.

Rory Hie fired a season-best 68 on Monday.
